I specialize in alternative photography but am not limited to working with alternative individuals. I won't refuse my services to anyone, however tf* shoots are limited to models that I feel can really add to my portfolio. For more information about tf* shoots scroll down.
I have set packages, but that is not all I offer. I will work within anyone's budget to create a package just for you that suits your needs and is in your price range.
I offer on location shoots, which means I will travel to you, or we can meet anywhere you want to meet to do the shoot. Studio sessions are available, but clients will be responsible for paying studio fees, and there are not studios available in every town. On location shoots tend to be more fun and interesting though, and I can change the background no matter where we shoot. I don't have to be in a studio to be able to shoot photos that look like they were shot in a studio!
I reserve the right to change my prices at any time I deem necessary. If we agreed on a price before I change them, the price we agreed on will still be the price you pay. If I have not had contact with you for 30 or more consecutive days, the old offer will no longer stand. If you will not be able to keep in contact for said 30 days for a good reason, inform me of such and I will still save the offer for you. If you do not contact me within 15 days after your expected return date, I will close the offer. As long as you keep in contact I can keep the offer open for you.
I require a deposit for all shoots. This deposit does not add onto your total, but is a part of it. In order to save your date, I will require half of the total costs up front. This can be paid via paypal, cash, or money order. The other half is due before or at the time of the shoot. If you do not show up to the shoot, cancel short notice, or do not have the rest of the money paid or with you at the time of the shoot, you will not receive your deposit back, and it cannot be given as credit towards another shoot with me. If you cancel within 15 days of the shoot, you also will not receive your deposit back, HOWEVER I will let you carry that money over as credit, meaning if you book another shoot with me, the deposit you've already paid will go towards your next order. I realize life happens though, so just keep in contact with me if you suspect something will happen that will conflict with our shoot date, or if something in fact does happen. We will work something out. If you cancel at any time or don't show up, you will receive a refund for any of the other half of the price you paid me.
A TF* shoot is a trade shoot, which means I do not pay you and you do not pay me, however I will do a photoshoot with you in exchange for your time as the model. There are two forms, tfp (time for print) and tfcd (time for cd). I only offer tfcd. Tf* shoots can be considerably shorter than an average shoot, and there are no set amount of photos you'll receive in the end. I could go crazy and give you 20, or I might only edit 1 or 2, there is no telling, but I usually make sure I can give you at LEAST 3-5, and then more if they came out good. You will be able to use the photos for your portfolio, and I will be able to use them for mine. I only offer tf* shoots to experienced models who can add something to my portfolio, and that are willing to shoot a specific artistic concept I had in mind, or who have an amazing idea of their own. Sometimes I will do tf* shoots with individuals who have never modeled in their life, because I see something in that person that I think would "play the part" in my idea well. If I have a certain idea I'd like to shoot, I will post casting calls on the tfcd page, and you can then reply to those casting calls by emailing me. Be warned though, don't try and use these shoots just to get free portraits done, as my ideas won't come out looking like lovely portraits you can send to the family, they will be, well, different. Perhaps your face won't show in half of them, perhaps I'll edit you to look like a robot, who knows. Occasionally I have been known to post casting calls to do regular portraits to update my portfolio. Very rarely will I post a casting call for someone to get normal portraits (aka, free photos to send to the family!)
I am very easy to work with and I prefer working with individuals that are also fun and outgoing. If you are shy I will work to make you comfortable, but we warned, I am quite crazy! I like to act crazy and talkative to get the models and clients loosened up, and don't be afraid to do the same. Divas don't make good photos, but fun and outgoing people do! I am aware that I do look a bit "less than ordinary", but that shouldn't deter you from working with me. You can see some of my self portraits to see what I mean. I am willing to listen to any and all ideas you might have, and that means if I have to climb on top of a "railroad bridge" (thanks Rocky!) I'll do it, it's all a part of the job! If you are going to be modeling or having your portraits taken alone, feel free to bring a friend or two along to keep you company! If you bring someone along, please bring someone you are 100% comfortable with. If you are nervous modeling or having your photos taken in front of them, it will show in the pictures, and that's never a good thing.
If you are under 18 years of age:
- I will need to speak with a parent or legal guardian in order to photograph you.
- I will not shoot you nude, nor will I do an "implied nude" shoot with you.
Hair stylists and makeup artists are available for any session at an extra fee. The exact fee cannot be given because I have to know where and when the shoot will take place to know what stylists will be available. I also have to know what kind of look you'd be going for. If you want a hair stylist, please come to the shoot with clean, dry hair, with no product in it, and let me know what type of hair you have beforehand, photos are also helpful. If you would like a makeup artist, you will need to come to the shoot with clean, pre-moistened skin, with NO makeup on (not even foundation!). It's harder for a makeup artist to do their job when they have to remove your current makeup to put more on. A makeup artist will not give you a makeover. What this means is that you will need to have your eyebrows plucked or waxed if you want them to be, and you'll need to have your skin clean and clear if you want it that way. The makeup artist will no whiten your teeth, pluck your brows, clean your pores, or anything of that fashion, they will only apply makeup, so please come ready.
I am also a graphic designer, meaning I can edit the photos to your liking. There are a number of things I can do. If you want to be a fairy, I'll make you a fairy! If you want to be an alien, I'll make you an alien! I can do almost anything, just ask. I can also remove blemishes, add or alter makeup, change the color of your clothes, change the background, remove eyesores from the background, and so much more!
Here are a couple examples of my editing work:

Model: Amanita Mascara // Photographer: Harlequin Photography

Model: Heather Lea Reid // Photographer: Me
If you'd like to see more, just ask!
You may not make extra prints of any of the photos I have taken without my permission, you may not edit any of the photos, and you may not remove my watermarks. There are very important reasons for this, and if you'd like to know I can tell you. I am not saying you may not make extra prints though, but I must authorize it. Often times certain websites or kiosks will crop photos, and even print them looking a bit wrong. A bad printed photo looks bad on me, and a photo with my watermark cut off is not acceptable.
My watermark is very small, and kept at one of the corners of the page. I always choose a corner that doesn't have any part of you in it (if available) to put my watermark on. It is simply NOT acceptable to put a giant watermark on your photos, it is NOT acceptable to put a watermark across someones face, and it is NOT acceptable to put numerous watermarks on a photo (especially used to basically cover the whole image). I will never do any of these things, and I can't see why any photographer would, but unfortunately there are still photographers out there that do it.
You are free to use the photos anywhere you please (magazines, online, ect.) as long as I am credited and notified. The watermark on the photos is automatically crediting me, and I only want to be notified if the photo will be showing up in a magazine or has won some sort of contest. Other than that feel free to post them anywhere and have fun.
